Gratitude Practice 2024 March 14: My Mighty Medical Port

Temporarily placed under the skin of my right clavicle is a tiny plastic medical power port that is critical to my cancer fight. If I think about it for too long I get a little ick-ed out…because it's kinda gross….but then I watch this little squatter work like a champ almost every day and I am flooded with gratitude. Skilled medical professionals follow very strict protocols and access a tiny tube that is connected to the super highways of my circulatory system. Sometimes they draw blood for labs and other times they push juicy fluids and other times the blast me with cancer killing chemotherapy. Either way, this power port provides an essential access point for my healing. It won't be with me forever (praise, Jesus) but it's a much appreciated and slightly creepy medical accessory. Not sure who invented it or how many prototypes were required…but so very grateful for the scientists and inventors who made this handy dandy little gadget possible.
