Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 142: Tape
Part of my on-going 2020 pandemic-earthquake-financial fubar-systemic racism awakening- inspired anxiety wack-a-mole game is deep cleaning and organizing the neglected parts of our home…yeah!...because taking proactive direct action over the few silly things we can actually have direct influence over feels good, right? Bags and bags of life detritus...now gone. Bin after bin of once upon a time treasures...now sifted and sorted and significantly reduced. My pathfinder is currently stuffed to the gills ready for my upcoming appointment at a local thrift store...because this stuff has got to...go! Feels real real good to purge the extras. Some things have been surprising and others not as much. One odd thing I've discovered is that I am a mindless collector and irresponsible consumer of...tape.
I've gathered rolls and rolls of tape from bags and bins and cupboards and several rolls have been living on top of our fridge for probably decades. Scotch. Masking. Packing. Double sided. Transparent. Translucent. Both wide AND narrow. It appears...I've got it all and plenty to share. Most half-way full or half-way empty depending on how you see the world. So so so much random tape rat holed throughout my house...and now strategically resting in one happy little bin.
Tonight, simply grateful for the wonder that is tape...and grateful that I now realize I have no business purchasing tape...like for years and years to come....and I'm choosing to look at this collection as part of my emergency prepardness planning and nothing less.
