Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 146: Changing wind, prayer and the kindness of small town folk.

Yesterday, our family working at Jacob Lake Inn and a small but mighty crew of college kids packed what they could and left the Kaibab forest due to a fast traveling fire. This is no small thing.

Tonight, grateful for a deliberate change in wind direction that has successfully kept the fire a few important miles from Jacob Lake Inn. While this is far from over this is positive and hope this trend continues. This is no small thing.

Grateful for the courage of those fighting the fires and for their expertise, leadership and communication. This is no small thing.

Grateful for the genuine hospitality of the Kanab community. Cots, soap, toothbrushes, food and shelter have been generously provided for our exhausted family and crew. This is no small thing.

Grateful for prayer. For the individual personal pleas and the more united and collective asks. God is good and people far and near have and are including this beautiful forest and these good people and this multigenerational business in their prayers. This is no small thing.

We are not yet in the clear so please keep the prayers and good vibes flowing. Thank you to all...for your kindness and for your care and your friendship. It’s been felt and appreciated. This grace and effort...This is no small thing.
