Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 269: Halloween 2020
Inside the endless chaos of all things 2020, I am forever grateful for the opportunity to see the world and experience life through the eyes of this tiny human who for the last month has proudly marched around our house in a sparkly spider bedazzled witch costume. Grateful for her ongoing curiosity and forever questions…."Mom, how do witch brooms work?" "Mom, why won't our broom fly" "Mom, maybe we should try the mop?" Grateful for her willingness to try anything and everything with gusto, glam and genuine interest, for her enchanting laugh and newly found confident cackle. Grateful for campy halloween toys and trinkets that now litter every single corner of our lives, for home grown (and a few store bought) glowing pumpkins who both guard and protect our porch, for sparkling witch costumes that provide endless hours of imaginative play, for sugar in ALL of its forms, for giggle inducing trick-or-treating inside our house with our cousin bestie, for glow in the dark skeleton PJs and super grateful for our already established and well practiced nightly tooth brushing habit. So very grateful for our tiny human and for the caring and creative people who orbit her world and make all things simply magical. Grateful for a very important reason to choose the good each day and create childhood wonder. Grateful for the push to simplify, to adapt, and to somehow ensure safety despite all of the terrifying aspects of the real grown up outside world.
