Gratitude Practice Day 111: A Box of Childhood Wonder Action Figures

This is the box of plastic playmate that currently travel the globe with us. Sometimes they live in a clear plastic zippered make-up tote as they join us on away from home adventures. Most of the time they live in a large glass jar that sits on our bookshelf and adds color and life to our shared space. Recently they have vacationed in our back yard in a plastic rubber made shoe box which has doubled as both a aqua space ship and a luxurious backyard swimming pool. These little friends have been gifted and collected over the last several years and each has played the staring role in SK's imaginative play at some point in time. I love this little collection of mode podge faces and personalities. I am grateful for their faithful friendship and playful companionship. I am grateful for their durability and perfect little girl pocket size and for all of their tiny moveable parts.

The older I get and the deeper I get in this mothering business the more grateful I have become for the my real life collection action figure hero’s...you know, those important people who all come from random places and times and universes that support and inspire and delight and challenge you faithfully day in and day out. The random yet meaningful collection of people that you gather and end up treasuring along the way. Tonight, I'm just so grateful for my people...and for SK's box of tiny playmates...we both share an appreciation for our motley crews as they are a dynamic cast of meaningful characters. Grateful for the action figures both plastic toys and real life people that just make the average everyday seem like an important, fun and do-able adventure. To all my people...you are always welcome in my backyard aqua shoe box swimming pool...anytime...any day...always welcome...
