Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 22: This Kid

My nephew, Jacob Robinson, leaves on Tuesday for a two year mission for our church. Two adventure filled years full of faith and service and growth experience in Brazil. He is bright and good and kind and as ready as any young adult can be for this faith promoting soul stretching perspective expanding opportunity. His kind parents invited me to be present at his birth and without being overly dramatic it changed me. I held his two older brothers in each of my arms and together I watched their family expand and the the bond between these three good brothers is something absolutely powerful. He has been a terrific little brother and stood today surrounded by all who love him beaming with love, confidence and an inspiring amount of eagerness to not just go and do...but go and do well no matter the outcome. Today, I am grateful for the chance I've have had to watch this squirmy darling baby boy become such a terrific grown up man. I am forever grateful for my role as Aunt Liz and consider this generation of Robinsons to be the best version yet.
