Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 151: Mountain tops, Motown, The Supreme Court, Fire Fighters, Team YouthCity and Tater Tots.

Grateful for nearby mountain tops and my willing traveling companions. This lovable guy and this spicy firecracker are my heart and soul and my home. Our crew and her tiny blue bike roamed free and carelessly around my new favorite place this evening and it was exactly what my heart and mind needed. This is a new sacred space for me and walking this trail and soaking in the setting sun just seems to settle every last thing back into the right place.

Grateful that for the last several days my kid has been singing so many of the Motown favorites...tiny little phrases full of rhythm and beat and so much soul just keep floating out of her tiny mouth. I’m learning how to seed her heart and mind ever so slightly with an appreciation of not just good music but great music created by black artists. Bit by bit. Step by step. Note by note. Song by song. We are determined to educate and inform.

Grateful for two incredible gains in legislation voted into law by the supreme court this week. One supporting LGBTQ rights and today with DACA and the Dreamers. Seems like two big big steps in the right direction and both came as such welcomed news. Thinking of those I know and love whose lives will be directly impacted by these decisions and feeling so much relief and happiness.

Grateful that the raging fires in Northern Arizona that have been threatening Jacob Lake Inn seem to be under control. The community, the fire fighters, the prayers...are nothing short of miraculous. We are far from where we want to be but our family and this business have been supported and blessed and lifted by the goodness and kindness of others.

Grateful for my job and for the good people I work with who just keep hustling with heart and hope. I’m inspired every day by their contribution and their goodness.

And lastly, grateful for tater tots...because they are just so so delicious.
