Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 105: My Golden Hour
It's 10:30ish pm. Another day of zoom calls and email and phone calls have ended. The park was explored, the markers were colored, the snacks dispensed the snuggles provided. Dinner was enjoyed...God bless whomever invented take out. The kitchen floor has been swept...again. Mount laundry has finally been summit-ed and slayed. The dishwasher is humming and the house is back to its livable stage of pandemic chaos. The hardworking husband and the delightful but endlessly chatty daughter are happily in bed and it is finally my golden hour. Insert giant exhale here. Now that the weather is changing most of my day's end with me in my jammies sitting in my favorite chair in the stillness of my glowy backyard. Grateful for this solo time to think and read and write and think some more. Grateful for this place, this tiny patch of dirt where I feel safe and free. No expectations. No agenda. No ones needs but my own. Just me and and my book and my beverage and the flowers and trees and twinkle lights. Mostly grateful to have made it to another day, for our health, for our jobs, for our family, for safety and peace and the abundance of undeserved blessings. Tonight just grateful and a bit overwhelmed by it all.
