Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 171: Zucchini Day

Grateful for our bountiful harvest of these plump delicious green big boys. We've loved watching them grow and have checked on them morning and night. The girl woke up super early knowing that today was the big day...time to harvest...because the zucchinis...are plentiful….

Grateful for Sarah Kate's overall excitement for this process. Each new phase has been full of big delightful questions and discoveries. "Mom, why do we need seeds?" "Mom, why are you putting dirt in those little pots?" Mom, our seeds are growing!" "Mom, are these tiny plants going to get bigger?" "Mom, whoa….look!!!" "Mom, why are these plants so thirsty?" "Mom, what is a Zucchini again?"….and on...and on...and on…. because zucchinis...are plentiful...

Grateful for our extra freezer and ziplock freezer bags…because... zucchinis…are plentiful...

Grateful for a successful morning of baking with my tiny sidekick. We carved up two out of three and explored the world of tasty zucchini sweet breads. Dee-lish. Next week, we will slay the third gourd and begin to enjoy the long list of savory recipes I've been collecting for months. Zucchini for days and weeks and months to come... because...zucchinis...are plentiful…

Grateful for a big win and tasty gardening experience. Gardening with kids somehow magically makes eating vegetables more fun. Not so confident about any of our other crops but this win may be big enough to carry us through…. because zucchinis...are plentiful...
