Gratitude Practice 2020 Day 63: Preparing for work trip

Grateful for the opportunity to travel for work and to attend two back-to-back conferences in our nation's capital.

Grateful for my supportive and encouraging leadership team and for my stellar team who makes our work full of creativity and purpose and meaning.

Grateful for the chance to present on research that I find so very inspiring, for the chance to collaborate with professionals from across the country, for the chance to learn how to improve our efforts to support kids and families.

Grateful for all of the behind the scene professionals who are doing their best day after day to keep things safe and calm and steady inside a world of growing anxiety and panic and movement.

Grateful for Costco size (which is the new travel size) containers of Clorox wipes, for multiple sizes of hand sanitizer (please work.... please work... please work), and for so many ziplock bags... because germs...ew...and the news...yikes...and because the news is all about germs...ew and yikes...

Grateful for my one time crazy fixation with all things zombies and biological warfare and for the vast number of apocalyptic movies and books I've digested over the years because...its all...probably fine?...we are fine...it's all fine...but if not....I feel strangely prepared and trained...and somehow, ready?

Grateful for family and friends who are helping to keep my home life working while my professional life takes the lead for a bit.

Grateful for Burke's love and support and patience for this adventure and for SK's constant request to let her just sneak into my suitcase.

Grateful for grown-up growth adventures. Grateful for rolling suitcases and travel size everything. Grateful for the overhead bins and window seats. Grateful for laptops and portable hotspots and earbuds. Grateful for time to read a new book and hopefully a magazines or two. Grateful for some downtime to catch a few podcasts and maybe squeeze in a new audio book. Grateful for time on the airplane to watch a few non-animated non-Disney movies (go me). Grateful for a little time to hopefully visit a museums and stroll around a few national monuments. But mostly just grateful for some TIME and space and the opportunity and ability to stretch both my legs and my brain and my heart as I create a few new memories over the next few days.
